It is August and we are still recovering from the bad weather which have hit our attempts to grow our own food. The bees swarmed at the start of the month and we had to capture the swarm and house it in a hive. The hens however have been laying plenty of eggs though some of them have appeared in some odd places. Meanwhile, mint is taking over the corner of Dad’s allotment so we used some of it to make mint sauce. And radish leaves normally throw on the compost heap are turned into soup.
